I found this really helpful guide that I think everyone should know about. I've seen a lot of controversy over these subjects and instances lately and there have been many people being upset, or who are infringing on others, etc. So I found this guide that is extremely helpful for everyone. Spread the word!
AS FOR TRACING OR HEAVILY REFERENCING:
Most tracers are not trying to profit from a traced paper with their squiggly lines and all, but are usually trying to learn by seeing how the lines connect. Tracing can actually be a good thing, as the deviantart FAQ states, because it is a good tool for learning. You can't actually do much with traced art anyway, and most people just upload it because they are looking to fit in somewhere and are inexperienced. Art teachers encourage their students to copy the way the art teacher does something, because that's how you learn. Only once the student has a general feel for drawing what they've already been taught can they develop their own style. It's nearly impossible to develop your own style if you don't even know how to draw in the first place. That doesn't take away from the fact that it does make other people feel like their art is being stolen, and at the very least the person tracing should give acknowledgement to the original, but tracing or heavily referencing is very beneficial to the person doing it if they use it for personal use only and give credit where credit is due. This is something most art teachers will tell you, because no art class that I've ever been in has tried to show everyone how to create their own unique style, they've just taught them their style and the students eventually develop their own style after they get down the basics. I don't know anyone, besides beginners, who trace. And usually the reason why they trace is because they are beginners trying to learn the basics. That doesn't mean you have to accept that they trace your stuff, but it should be treated less harshly than actual illegal activity. I know it doesn't feel nice to have something traced and I've been really upset about that in the past too, however I've changed my opinion on it after reading deviantarts FAQ and what it had to say about it and now I take it with a grain of salt. It's less upsetting when you see the reason behind why people do things. You still might not like it, but it's better to go a little easier on the topic of tracing when comparing it to something like art theft.
Here's what deviantart says about tracing/heavily referencing:
Again, I'm not trying to minimize those who feel upset about others tracing or heavily referencing their art. I only hoped that this article would give you a little more understanding and make you feel a little better about the issue. My recommendation is to alert the offender that they should give credit where credit is due and that what they are doing offends you-in a respectful manner. Civil and respectful communication should minimize this issue, if both sides understood each other better. And then again some people are just going to be jerks anyway, but a lot of them are simply ignorant.

2000 Watcher's Contest (DTIYS)
A bit late but I've been super sick recently so it took me a while to get around to this. It's really hard for me to spend more than 30 minutes on a drawing so I'm impressed with myself for spending 3 hours on this today. Anyway, this is my DTIYS (Draw this in your style) contest to celebrate hitting 2000 watchers! RULES: 1. Must be a watcher to join 2.Image does not have to be exact, but it must have enough elements present to be recognizable. For example, the creature must be an African Wild Dog, and it must contain some abstract decorations/elements (they don't have to be the same as mine). The pose can be different as well, in fact you can choose to do a full body or a bust! 3.Please link your image back to my original and make sure to add that it's a DTIYS when tagging, or uploading 4. All images must be submitted before the due date to qualify for prizes 5. You can submit as many images as you want 6. Please tag me in your submissions so I know about them!
Utterly Profound Commentary of Job
This was too amazing to not share, and absolutely floored me in the midst of my PTSD. Source: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/themelios/article/how-did-job-speak-rightly-about-god/ ARTICLES Volume 43 - Issue 3 How Did Job Speak Rightly about God? BY ERIC ORTLUND Abstract Yahweh’s stated preference for Job’s speech toward him in opposition to the friends in Job 42:7 is difficult to understand in light of the many criticisms Job levels against God in the course of the debate and the many seemingly pious and biblically supportable claims which the friends made. A variety of proposed interpretations of this verse are considered and rejected. It is argued instead that even when Job curses creation in ch. 3, he shows how much he values the friendship with God which he thinks he has now (inexplicably) lost; even when he rails against what seems to be a guilty verdict in chs. 9–10, Job shows how profoundly he understands that human claims of righteousness must be substantiated by God
Regarding Wishlists
Sorry, I can't guarantee wishlists this year. Feel free to tag me but I might not have time to get around to them. If I do they'll end up being simplified, so I can crunch through multiple a day, since I've already been tagged in a lot. I have a LOT of things I have to get done by the end of December. Although my baby's due date is January 2, only 5% of women give birth on their due date, the overwhelming majority actually give birth early. Not only that but I'm in the middle of moving again and I'm actually making all my furniture from scratch from wood. There's a lot of work to do in terms of buying materials, sanding, painting, and unpacking. I'm actually terrified I'll go into labour before my house is even move-in ready. That would be my worst nightmare. I have to make my furniture because the house I'm moving into is super small and has very specific and finnicky sizes I just can't find online or anywhere else, and was much too small for the furniture I already had. I've also
