What Will They Say About You...

Description

...When I'm gone...?

This is for  ZombieKiller52 200 Watcher's Contest.

The scene is based on "Hero" by Heather Dale.

Lyrics:

You think if you set the price they'll turn me in
You think that when I'm up upon the pike you'll win
They'll say that I was fighting
For the spirit of the law
What will they say about you
When I'm gone

You murdered and you stole you mocked the hope I gave
Though I'd prefer a happy end no man can cheat the grave
I know what they'll remember
In the words of every song
What will they say about you
When I'm gone

They'll say
We stared into the wind that tore away our breath
We left behind a message that can not be claimed by death
A hero lives forever
For the ones that carry on
What will they say about you
When I'm gone

In this song I imagine a husband and wife in the brink of a war. Like maybe the Nazi war. I imagine that the wife tries to stand up for the innocent-the Jews or something like that, but one day her husband is cornered and in his fear, he turns his wife in and becomes a traitor, afraid of losing his own life. They kill his wife (because she tries to save the innocent) and leave him be but I imagine this scene specifically this is after his wife is dead, she's come back to haunt him as a ghost for the things he's done. The wolves prowling over the hill with glowing green eyes are all the innocent that were murdered coming back to haunt him, and the millions of eyes in the forest reflect the turmoil of his own soul for being such a coward. He feels forever ashamed and full of guilt. I imagine his wife, disappointed in him but still loves him coming back as a ghost, teaching him about his consequences of his actions. Such as

"Though I'd prefer a happy end, no man can cheat the grave." In other words, everyone dies, so you might as well die for something worth dying for. But her husband chose to cheat death a little longer by being a traitor and a coward. His wife is teaching him what's really important and what actually is valuable in life. And there's no value in the life of a traitor, there's more value to be found in the life of a hero, even if that hero's life is short lived.

I really like this idea of his wife full of grief that he would do such a thing, but still full of love to counsel him even after all he's done as a ghost afterwards.

This looks amazing! The sunlight makes everything look really surreal but beautiful, the backstory fits amazingly with the song too.

Also I saw your status, hope you're doing ok! <3
