The Letter N

Wow I am so glad I finally got my hands on this!  This was a project I did in year 1 second semester of GCPT at SAIT.  I'm not sure why I never uploaded it, I don't have the original file so I had to take it off D2L to get the digital copy.

This was an assignment in Typesetting class where I had to choose the letter of the alphabet, look up it's history and write the history in my own words and set up a typographic hierarchy in three different ways using different typographic elements.

I wanted to do F because F is my favorite letter but the history of F was kind of boring and then I saw that N meant snake and I thought that was kind of interesting cause N looks nothing like a snake to me, why N and not S?  So I decided to take up the letter N instead.

Here are the three different ways I did it.  My classmates liked the second and third one best, the second because it looked clean set up in columns and yet there was an element of chaos to it like the bars that don't line up.

They also liked the last one because of the contrast.   I'd probably have to agree with them.
